Holy Hatgases!

Yes, that’s our driveway alright! It was a “Holy Hatgas Weekend” as the kids and parents gathered at our house for a Saturday afternoon play date. Nevermind the fact that we have no kids to contribute to the play date, but we managed to keep everybody happy with fruit snacks and Capri Sun so they had no choice but to play with us! The above picture captured almost all the kids…only ones missing were Anna and John Paul (who was barely a week old and too young to be playing trains with the rest). I also think we only got part of Michael but you get the jist.

I was not only impressed with how well all the nieces and nephews behaved at our new place, but I was also impressed that Colleen, my sister-in-law, refrained from making ANY baby comments when we were showing her around our new house!

Here is Connor, who thoroughly enjoyed the tunnel Chris and Kim brought with them. He’s not the baby in town, now that John Paul has been born, but he is still the cutest little bugger in diapers! Doesn’t he look like he’s up to no good?

We learned some valuable things this weekend:

The first thing we learned is that girls can plan t-ball. The second (and more surprising thing) is that our yard is big enough to play t-ball in!
Anna, playing one hell of a game of t-ball

We also learned that Michael really likes dogs. Really. He likes dogs so much and was so excited at the mere thought of seeing our neighbors’ dog through the fence that he kept shouting “There’s a dog! I saw a dog! Hey, you have a dog! Get your dog over here! A dog!” I think he scared the dog (and our neighbors) back inside.
Where did the dog go, Michael?

One of the other important things we learned is that we are not ready to have that many kids. Luckily, I think the chances of giving birth to 7 children of multiple ages all at once is next to impossible. Anyhow, it’s fun to enjoy our family and know that one day we will have a little one tottering around and t-balling with the rest of them. For now, it’s nice to have all the fruit snacks and Capri Sun to ourselves!
